Members of the Los Angeles Athletic Club are also allowed entry to the restaurant, pool, paddle tennis facilities and other amenities of the California Yacht Club.
Marina Beach – Also known as Mother’s Beach for its kid-friendly waters and play areas, this sweet spot is a popular place for visitors and locals. A roped off swimming and wading area make for fun water play for little ones in the calm waters of the harbor. Lifeguards watch over the beach and many restaurants are within easy walking distance after a long day of water play.
Water Sports – Scuba, snorkeling, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, paragliding and paddle boarding are just a few of the many water activities and sports available year-round.
Sailing – You can either rent a boat to sail yourself or charter a beautiful sailboat for special events or just for a few tranquil hours. The California Sailing Academy is a good place for beginners to get their sea legs under the watchful eye of experienced sailors.
Bird Watching – Ballona Creek is a bike rider’s dream destination as well as for those who like to stretch their legs along this wetlands’ ecological reserve’s 8-miles of walkways. The mornings can be foggy, but egrets and herons enjoy the fishing along the banks. The cherished slice of wetlands leads to the ocean and has lush views of the area’s natural biology.
