Beverlywood is a gorgeous community in the west side district of Los Angeles, California. The neighborhood is very new as the development only began in the 1940s. It was one of the very first neighborhoods in the city to adopt a Home Owners’ Association to enforce rules and regulations including size, color and landscaping of the homes. The Home Owner’s Association maintains a few private parks located within the neighborhood with one of the most visited being the gated Circle Park. Other communities neighboring Beverlywood are Castle Heights, Monte Mar Vista as well as Pico-Robertson.
This small neighborhood is only about .79 square miles in size with a population of 6,418 as estimated by the United States Census Bureau in 2008. This area is not considered to be very culturally diverse with a large percentage of residents being of only Caucasian heritage. The city of Los Angeles itself is very culturally diverse with less than half of its residents being of white ancestry alone. There is a large African American, Asian and Hispanic influence in the city with over 60% of residents speaking a language other than English at home.
Beverlywood, is very conveniently located. It is only about a 20 minute drive away from the beautiful sandy beaches of California. Living in this area makes it very easy to enjoy a lifestyle of high-end shopping, unique eating and jet setting almost anywhere in the entire world.
The Sunset Strip is not the only exciting destination in the area. With a little exploration from the neighborhood itself, a few flea and street markets can be found throughout the city. Olvera Street, the Santee Alley and Melrose Trading Post are just a few of the fun shopping places to take the family on the weekend. For educational and historical outings, you will find everything from gazing at the stars at the Griffith Observatory, playing with the exhibits and viewing an IMAX movie at the California Science Center, or getting your engine revving at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Multiple exciting amusement parks are also just around the corner: Universal Studios Hollywood, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Boney Island, just to name a few. Between all of the museums, escape rooms, amusement parks, theaters and concert halls; there is so much to do right around home when you are living in Beverlywood.

The city has many grade schools, private schools as well as colleges and universities for parents and prospective students to choose from. The percentage of residents holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher is about 32%. This is higher than the national average according to the United States Census Bureau. The median household income in the neighborhood is much higher than the national average as well as the average for the city itself. In 2008, the annual income was $105,253 per household. The city sees a median approximately $50,205 and the nation $53,889 of yearly income per household. The mean travel time to work for commuters is about 30 minutes with the large range of options in job opportunities due to the vast array of businesses in and around the area.
